Vrijplaats Voor Verbeelding is a 1-year project set in Bierum, northern Groningen. This project playfully explores how we experience our surroundings, how imagination can influence this experience and how we can rediscover our surroundings by looking at, moving through and listening to them in different ways.
A mobile tourist office moved through the landscape, a newspaper was published every month and spread around to reach people at home in pandemic times, site-specific installations were made in collaboration with other artists, and various activities and workshops were organised.
This project is supported by the Mondriaan Fund, Stichting Stokroos, Kunstraad Groningen and the Bierumer School
